When a new version of PLEAT is released, you install it as a new theme next to your current one. Your customizations are not transferred automatically, so follow these steps.
Before you update
- In Online Store → Themes, open the ⋯ menu of your live theme and choose Duplicate. This is your backup.
- Note any code changes you or a developer made to the theme files — they must be re-applied manually.
Installing the new version
- Upload the new version using the steps in Install the Theme.
- Open the new theme in the Theme Editor and re-create your settings. Most sections keep the same settings, so this is usually quick.
- Preview the new theme carefully, then Publish it.
Note
Your products, collections, pages, menus and orders are stored in Shopify, not in the theme. Updating the theme never affects them.
